Beautiful Losers – Do-It-Yourself Trailer

Directors Aaron Rose and Joshua Leonard’s do-it-yourself feauture film documentary explores the spirit behind an influential cultural movement of a generation. In the early 1990’s a loose-knit group of like minded outsiders found common ground at a little NYC storefront gallery. Rooted in the DIY (do-it-yourself) subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hip hop and graffiti, they made art that reflected the lifestyles they led. Developing their craft with almost no influence from the “establishment” art world, this group, and the subcultures they sprang from, have now become a movement that has been transforming pop culture.

Beautiful Loser rolled out on Friday, September 8th in Los Angeles and New York, but should hit other major cities soon. Artists Shepard Fairey, Harmony Korine, Mike Mills, Geoff McFetridge, Thomas Campbell, Jo Jackson, Chris Johanson, Margaret Kilgallen, Barry McGee, Stephen Powers, Aaron Rose and Ed Templeton appear the documentary.
