I really appreciate graffiti street art and respect the artist’s skill and discipline when I’m able to connect to their pieces in a visceral way, and I’ve stumble upon such artist – Brooklyn-based Miles Wickham [The Reskew / MWNYC]. Artist Miles Wickham’s minimal graffiti and watercolor paintings and sculpture are partly “influenced by technology” and adored by collectors and fellow modern artists.

I’ve seen all of director Noah Baumbach films and even though on the surface, Baumbach’s whitewash film characters appears unrelatable ’cause of their rich white-people problem. Nevertheless, I do end up enjoying his films. Anyhoo, Ben Stiller and underrated actress – Jennifer Jason Leigh – star in his latest effort – Greenberg – and the trailer is here for your consumption.

Ben Stiller’s Greenberg is at a crossroads in his life. Out of a job and none too interested in finding one, he agrees to housesit for his younger and more successful brother, thereby getting a free place to stay in Los Angeles. Once settled in, Greenberg sets out to reconnect with his old friend and former bandmate Ivan — [Rhys Ifans]. But times have changed, and old friends aren’t necessarily still best friends, so Greenberg finds himself spending more and more time instead with his brother’s personal assistant Florence – [Greta Gerwig] – an aspiring singer and herself something of a lost soul. As their relationship develops through a series of embarrassingly awkward romantic encounters, even someone as irascible as Greenberg might have at last found a reason to be happy.

Greenberg with psychostimulant-medication-in-tow rolls into New York & Los Angeles theaters on Friday, March 19 and goes wide-release in other cities on Friday, March 26.

The Exhibit A Gallery curators Tony Alva and Richard Villa III are putting on an Los Angeles charity event – Deck The Halls: Charitable Silent Art Auction and Alva Los Angeles 4 Year Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, December 5 @ 7:00pm through 12-Midnight. The Deck The Halls: Charitable Silent Art Auction will include works by artists and pro-skaters alike – Christian Hosoi, Steve Olson, Mimi Knoop, Axis, Wynn Miller, Chloe Trujillo, Dennis McNett, Farel Dalrymple, Clint Peterson, Mark [Gonz] Gonzales, Greg Gossel, Jason Adams, Jeff Ho and Lauren Bergman.

All proceeds will go to the Children’s Hospital.
