Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox star in director Jimmy Hayward’s Jonah Hex which is based on John Albano and Tony Dezuniga’s DC Comics series. Enjoy Jonah Hex trailer below and the film hits theaters on Friday, June 18.

Synopsis: Jonah Hex is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone… and anything. Having survived death, Jonah’s violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the “other side.” His only human connection is with Lila, whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. Jonah’s past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can’t refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull. But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah’s oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead.

Cosplay In America – Book Release Party

Photographer Ejen Chuang’s appropriately titled book Cosplay In America will have its highly-anticipated launch party at Royal/T on Sunday, May 23 at 12:00 [noon] til 5:00pm. Royal/T is a collision of café, shop and art space “presented in stunning fusion. An eclectic mix of retail and contemporary art reimagined in the surrounds of LA’s first Japanese-style cosplay café.”

The artists and scenestars – Legacy, Uncle Murda, Ben J., DJ Clue, Maino, Waka Flocka, James [Bimmy] Antney, Uncle Murda, Draft Pickz and Fat Joe – of New York City came out to celebrate DJ Prostyle’s birthday thrown by P. Diddy at B.B. Kings Blues Club & Grill. The party went from ten-at-night til four-in-the-morning.

Rooms @ Scion Installation Los Angeles

Today, I had an opportunity to oogle and snap exclusive pix of a new exhibit – Rooms – by artists Adam Wallacavage, Dueling VHS [Hank Cherry, Jeremy Hoar & Larry Langton], Rocky Grimes, Chris Stain & Billy Mode, Bill Daniel, Justin Van Hoy, Dan Monick & Caitlin Reilly and Kime Buzzelli at Scion Installaion L[os] A[ngeles]. It was my first foray into Scion space and was definitely impress by the work-in-progress of Rooms with curator Roger Gastman.

Rooms looks to be a kick-arse installation — that’s-not-be-missed. The opening reception blasts off [tomorrow] on Saturday, April 24 @ 7:00pm to 10:00pm and remains on view until Saturday, May 15.

The über-curators of Roberts & Tilton and Yael Lipschutz are showcasing a kick-arse exhibition by auteur Barbara McCullough titled Shopping Bag Spirits & Freeway Fetishes: Reflections On Ritual Space. The opening reception will occur on Saturday, May 22 at 6:00pm to 8:00pm and remain on view [w/ artist Ellen De Meutter’s Writings On The Wall] until Saturday, July 3. Filmmaker Barbara McCullough will screen the 60-minutes 1979 documentary pertaining to the role of ritual in art with commentaries by David Hammons, Senga Nengudi and Betye Saar.
