Cheap Ugly Betty Shoots New York City

Ugly Betty production is moving to New York City for a 35% tax credit from the city and state. It was confirmed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Gov. David Paterson and ABC Studios President Mark Pedowitz.

Saturday Night Live’s Amy Poehler spoofed the relocation decision in her Weekend Update segment: “Producers of the hit show Ugly Betty are in talks to relocate production of the show to New York City, where it is set. Which is odd, because I thought it was set on a gay spaceship.”

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s Baby Mama was #1 at the box office this weekend, grossing $17.4 million.

Congratulations to Amy Poehler, she’s pregnant and expecting her first child with funny man Will Arnett. Their rep Lewis Kay confirmed the news to People.

Writer and Director Richard Kelly’s new film, Southland Tales, is a follow up to his 2001 cult-hit Donnie Darko.

Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Janeane Garofalo and Amy Poehler star in Southland Tales.

Synopsis: Set in Los Angeles in the year 2008 during a three day heat wave just before a huge 4th of July celebration, an action star stricken with amnesia meets up with an adult film star developing her own reality television project and a Hermosa Beach police officer who holds the key to a vast conspiracy.
