The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency @ HBO

I’ve been waiting for this project – The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency – which was originally planned as feature film, but then became an UK television mini-series directed by the late filmmaker Anthony Minghella and stars Jill Scott, Anika Noni Rose and Idris Elba. It’s finally here and it premieres on HBO on Wednesday, March 29, and the teaser trailer is below for your consumption.

The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency is based on Alexander McCall Smith’s book series and centers on Jill Scott’s Precious Ramotswe, the woman in charge of Botswana’s only female-run detective agency who not only investigates cases but serves as a kind of makeshift therapist to all who come to see her.
