Krysten Ritter’s Carol Rhodes @ Gossip Girl

The Confessions of a Shopaholic stars Isla Fisher, Krysten Ritter, Hugh Dancy and Joan Cusack walked the red carpet of their film’s premiere at Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.

Confessions of a Shopaholic hits theaters on Friday, February 13, and co-star Krysten Ritter has been cast in the new Gossip Girl prequel spin-off about Lily Van der Woodson’s 80s teenage period. Ms. Ritter says I just got the lead in the Gossip Girl spin-off prequel. My voice is killing me from screaming. I’m really excited about it, it’s going to be a good ride. I play her older sister – Carol Rhodes – she goes to L.A. to find. She’s a real bad ass, it’s a really classy part.

The prequel to Gossip Girl follows Kelly Rutherford’s teenage Lily growing up in Los Angeles in the 1980s. After attending an exclusive boarding school in Montecito, Lily Rhodes encounters culture clash when she goes to live with her sister in the San Fernando Valley. While there, she soaks up the burgeoning Valley Girl lifestyle as well as the excess of wealth, music and fashion exploding on the Sunset Strip. The prequel starts shooting in March and scheduled to air May 11 as an episode of Gossip Girl.

Confessions of a Shopaholic: In the glamorous world of New York City, Rebecca Bloomwood is a fun-loving girl who is really good at shopping–a little too good, perhaps. She dreams of working for her favorite fashion magazine, but can’t quite get her foot in the door–until ironically, she snags a job as an advice columnist for a financial magazine published by the same company. As her dreams are finally coming true, she goes to ever more extreme efforts to keep her past from ruining her future.
