Michel Gondry. The We and the I. Movie.

Filmmaker Michel Gondry’s The We and the I screens at Festival de Cannes — which opens Wednesday, May 16 and closes on Sunday, May 27. Enjoy the first-look trailer.

The We and the I is the heartfelt and comical story of the final bus ride home for a group of young high school students and graduates. As kids depart the bus for the last time, we get to learn about these graduates as they step into the world – their love, their conflicts, their despair and their hope.

Michel Gondry @ Tokyo – Trailer

Tokyo is a compilation of short films directed by auteurs Michel Gondry, Leos Carax and Bong Joon-Ho. The triptych film tells three separate tales set in Tokyo, Japan. Tokyo hits theaters on Friday, March 6. Thanks Hernando Bansuelo for the email.

Bong Joon-Ho’s Shaking Tokyo centers on a man who has lived for 10 years as a hikikomori, and what happens when he falls in love one day with a pizza delivery girl.

Michel Gondry’s Interior Design follows the story of a wannabe movie director who arrives in Tokyo with his girlfriend only to find that parts of her bones are turning into wood.

Leos Carax’s Merde tells the story of an unkempt, gibberish-spewing subterranean creature of the Tokyo sewers, who rises from the underground lair where he dwells to attack unsuspecting locals in increasingly brazen and terrifying ways.
