On shooting The Last Song in mid-America: I got on the plane [to Georgia], and I was lying in my mom’s lap and crying and saying, I’m so happy to be getting out of Los Angeles [In Tybee, GA] I went out every night with my friends. I did karaoke. I danced. All this stuff would’ve been such a big deal in Los Angeles: Who’s she with? Why is she dancing? I felt so alive and real. It’s so much easier to know who you are when there aren’t a thousand people telling you who they think you are. I felt like I was really figuring myself out. Usually I have someone whispering in my ear, but I was on my own.

On the media and public’s negative reaction to her controversial Vanity Fair pix : Here, my parents are thinking they’re seeing a beautiful photograph by a major photographer, and the people of America want to see something dirty in that? It doesn’t make sense to us because [my family] doesn’t look for negativity. But people don’t want to say ‘What a great performance’ or ‘What a great shot. No one wants to look at something like that and see the positive because it doesn’t sell a magazine.

On being a role model and not a parent: My job is to be a role model, and that’s what I want to do, but my job isn’t to be a parent. My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I’m still figuring that out for myself. So to take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not. That’s just life.”

The Last Song hits theaters on Friday, 2 April 2010.

Miley Cyrus Humps Glamour

Miley Cyrus graces the cover and pages of Glamour May issue to promote her new Hannah Montana family movie arriving in theaters on Friday, April 10. The Disney star Miley Cyrus opens up about her lack of interest in parties, physical growth and acting.

Laurie Sandell

On not partying: The last thing I ever want to do is disappoint my family. I think it’s selfish to go out partying all the time, especially if you have little ones [in your family]. I have a nine-year-old sister, and I don’t want her to go to school and have people make fun of her for it.

On her 7-months relationship: The best thing that’s happened to me in a long, long time has been meeting Justin [Gaston], because he’s the most respectful and selfless person I’ve ever known.

On her physique: One thing that bugs me is people who say, “Miley really needs to lose some weight,” or, “She got her boobs done.” I did start out really skinny, but you’re not going to have boobs when you’re 12 years old. I’m like, What are you talking about—let me grow!

Miley Cyrus Humps Billboard

Disney Phenom Miley Cyrus won’t stop talking about Vanity Fair backless pictures, and graces the cover of Billboard to promote her new album sans her alter-ego Hannah Montana.

On pictures in Vanity Fair: I was embarrassed… but also it’s like, every career thing that I do can’t be perfect, and sometimes my decisions are wrong. I think that just makes me even more relatable. I don’t think people will look at me any differently because they’re like, You know what, I’m going to do stupid stuff too, and I’m going to make mistakes, and that’s fine. It still hurts when I think about it.

On upcoming album – Breakout: It’s grown-up. I wrote all the songs except two. My last one, Meet Miley Cyrus, was more just meeting me, finding out who I am, and here it’s more getting in depth of what’s been going on in my life in the past year.

We’ll have Miley’s music video for 7 Things off Breakout tomorrow, stay tuned.
