When the beloved cellist of a world-renowned string quartet is diagnosed with a life threatening illness, the group’s future suddenly hangs in the balance as suppressed emotions, competing egos and uncontrollable passions threaten to derail years of friendship and collaboration. As they are about to play their 25th anniversary concert — quite possibly their last — only their intimate bond and the power of music can preserve their legacy.

Follows four members of a world-renowned string quartet who struggle to stay together in the face of death, competing egos and insuppressible lust.

The Weinstein Company has release a theatrical trailer of director Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master with Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The Master hits theaters on Friday, October 12.

A 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as “the Master” whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter who becomes his right-hand man.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind writer Charlie Kaufman makes his directorial debut with Synecdoche, New York and screens it at 61st edition of Cannes Film Festival.

Synopsis: A tale of a theater director who thinks he’s dying, and how that shapes his interactions with the world, his art and the women in his life. He ambitiously attempts to put on a play by creating a life-size replica of New York inside a warehouse.

Philip Seymour Hoffman stars as Caden, the theater director who thinks he’s dying.

Synecdoche, New York is written by Charlie Kaufman, and he’s repped by David Kramer and Richard Klubeck at United Talent Agency (UTA).
