The English actress Emily Blunt stars in Director Jean-Marc Vallee’s The Young Victoria, the early years of the monarch Queen Victoria’s rule and her legendary romance and marriage to Prince Albert. The period piece hits theaters in March 2009 and check out the trailer below.

The Young Victoria will focus on the first, often turbulent, years of the monarch’s rule. She became queen at 18, and her legendary romance and marriage to Prince Albert. Tom Cruise @ Valkyrie Press Conference

Tom Cruise and Thomas Kretschmann star in Bryan Singer’s Valkyrie and attend a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California to promote the film.

Valkyrie: The “July 20th Plot” on Hitler’s life is one of the most heroic, but least known episodes of World War II history. Severely wounded in combat, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg returns from Africa to join the German Resistance, and help create Operation Valkyrie, the complex plan that will allow a shadow government to replace Hitler’s once he is dead. But fate and circumstance conspire to thrust Stauffenberg from one of many in the plot to a double-edged central role. Not only must he lead the coup and seize control of his nation’s government–he must kill Hitler himself.

Valkyrie flick hits theaters on Friday, December 26, and was shot on location in Berlin, Germany.

Synopsis: A proud military man, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is a loyal officer who loves his country but has been forced to watch with horror as the rise of Hitler has led to the events of World War II. He has continued his military service, all the while hoping someone will find a way to stop Hitler before Europe and Germany are destroyed. Realizing time is running out, Stauffenberg decides he must take action himself, and in 1942, on his own initiative, attempts to persuade senior commanders in the East to confront and overthrow Hitler. Then in 1943, while recovering from injuries suffered in combat, Stauffenberg joins forces with the German Resistance, a long-existing civilian anti-Hitler conspiracy comprised of men hidden inside the highest reaches of power. Armed with a cunning strategy to use Hitler’s own emergency plan to stabilize the government in the event of his demise–Operation Valkyrie–and turn that plan on its head to remove those in power and cripple Hitler’s regime, these men plot to assassinate the dictator and overthrow his Nazi government. With everything in place, and with the future of the world, the fate of millions, and the lives of his wife and children hanging in the balance, Stauffenberg is thrust from being one of many who oppose Hitler to being the one who must kill Hitler himself.

Tom Cruise @ Bryan Singer’s Valkyrie – Trailer

After a couple of push back release dates for Bryan Singer’s thriller film – Valkyrie – starring Tom Cruise, we can whet our appetite with the trailer. And as far as I’m concern, it looks interesting; eventhough, it feels fimiliar – a la Mission Impossible.

Logline: Based on actual events, thriller depicts an attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler at the height of World War II.

Synposis: The “July 20th Plot” on Hitler’s life is one of the most heroic, but least known episodes of World War II history.

Valkyrie flick hits theaters on February 13th of 2009, and was shot on location in Berlin, Germany.
