Kirsten Dunst Humps Harper’s Bazaar

Kirsten Dunst graces the cover and pages of Harper’s Bazaar October 2008 issue to promote her new film – How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. It’s directed by Robert B. Weide and adapted by screenwriter Peter Straughan from Toby Young’s novel.

In the film, actor Simon Pegg’s Sidney Young is a smalltime, bumbling, British celebrity journalist who is hired by an upscale magazine in New York City. In spectacular fashion, Sidney enters high society and burns bridges with bosses, peers and superstars.

On Acting: When you spend your entire life as a child actress, being told where to go and where to stand, you’re performing constantly for people. It definitely breeds the kind of person who’s dependent on other people’s approval. If I’d trusted myself and listened to myself all the times that I ignored myself, I would have been fine. But everyone has to learn their lesson, and now I’ve got it.

On Seeking Treatment For depression @ Utah’s Cirque Lodge: I don’t want to go into too much detail because I give a quote and then it’s blogged about for the rest of my life on the Internet. But she does say, I’m great.

On Her Future Plans: I can’t wait to have kids one day. I want to have kids and a farm with lots of animals on a lake.

Harper’s Bazaar hits newsstands on Tuesday, September 23. How to Lose Friends and Alienate People opens in theater on Friday, October 3.
