The Color Purple ~ Happy 25th Anniversary

It’s been twenty-five years since director Steven Spielberg’s The Color Purple film based on Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel hit the silver-screen worldwide, and The Oprah Winfrey Show has reunited the cast for Monday, November 15 broadcast.

The Color Purple is one of my favorite film — partly due to its eternal impact and impression it made on me as young-man of color. Enjoy the original 1985 trailer ~

India.Arie Debut @ Whoopi Goldberg’s Broadway

India.Arie will make her Broadway debut in Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg’s production of Ntozake Shange’s For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, when it opens September 8 at Circle in the Square.
